MY DRAMA AT ALLIANCE de FRANCAISE

An exciting drama was conducted under the auspices of Alliance de Francaise, Vazhuthacaud, Trivandrum. The French education and cultural centre Alliance de Francaise hosted a drama workshop and the drama was finally staged on November 30. The whole story and the underlying themes were developed by the participants themselves with the effective guidance of the French instructors Juliette and Coraline. The characters in the drama were given life by Jeffrey, Sebastian Chacko, Aadil Muhammed, Nikhitha, Aparna Ajith, Elizabeth, Selen, Mintu, Jacob Ninan, Sweta and Akhilesh. The drama expounded the hardships faced by a foreigner in an alien country in social, cultural and regional aspects. The foreigner finds everything novel and he struggles to mingle with the strange circumstances. But from the inner most recesses of his heart, he feels that his homeland becons him to come back. He turns out to be a pantaloon for the people while he visits places and hotels. But when he is faced with some misery, we can see that the people of this new country are ready to help him. He is impressed by the hospitality shown by the people. Finally he bids adieu to the new land with a lot of spectacular memories. The drama had the charm of simplicity and innovation. The audience accepted the drama with a wide applause. The theme was exposed with burlesque scenes and comic expressions. The venture of drama emerged fruitful as a result of six weeks of indefatigable practice. The participants opined that they were taken to the nuances and subtlelities of drama by the French masters. It was an awesome experience.
